Dust 06:53
DUST This time he comes, this man he comes This time he comes to you and I This time he comes oh hey yo hi So many man laid ways So many rough and stony trails A wisdom one on rusted nails Would walk and still he’ll come to stay This one with skin ablaze He follows this way that way Whichaway the crow flies free Welcome children welcome Welcome now the crow flies free Back to you he comes and on And on and on and on to me The raven ‘self is hoarse that croaks This wisdom let it be We gently stroke our troubled head Thank comfort for a swaddling bed Let hell dissolve to myths of old While love we truly tell Breathe now yet we don’t breathe Wisdom comes as the crow flies free Welcome children welcome Welcome as the crow flies free This time he comes now all pervading Wisdom man that man outside Welcome him come to your board That wisdom man that man inside Damned mute to those who’ll not hear Invisible, the crow flies free Welcome children welcome Welcome now the crow flies free He sits between the humble frogs A-joking at their demigods The pulses of his history Between the fallen trees The creak between upstanding and Mulcher fodder of our land He stands and speaks the truth to you Like a woman, a wisdom man Welcome children welcome Welcome as the crow flies free Welcome children welcome Welcome now the crow flies free Argue all you like you little Puzzled children all in fright He’ll laugh and hold you loose and nice Throughout your shiver night Or if the Time is right he might He must hold tight and tight and tight Your throat this wisdom man And gently kiss you back to dust. Welcome children welcome Welcome as the crow flies free Welcome children welcome Welcome now the crow flies free

EAGLE & WOMAN Through the glass stained temple sky Appears the eagle king His wing span broad enough to lay a woman down To steal a dog or duck to death To humble the mind of man On the forest floor each step as they tiptoed Be‘tween the tiny frogs The well fleshed holy And the wondering business of realms beyond Cicadas listened and marvelled at their incessant chatter And innocent musings What noisy beasts These lovers all I knew him young We shared a pulse While in their moments they undertook their years Sending them off with kissing poetry and blackened peat And mangoes and flood Relentless sapling birthed itself Amidst the reddened mud, he sent her incarnadine What noisy beasts These lovers all I knew him young We shared a pulse Gone beside him in a dream In which they shifted him like sands Under windy sky from pristine Youngling to Shamanic fire Fungal threads and old rock jewels Love was crafted by their hands Made her potent spells of leaves Luxuries imbued with time Through the glass stained temple sky Appears the eagle king His wings span broad enough to lay a woman down To steal a dog or duck to death To humble the mind of man The eagle appears and such is the way of things The eagle appears and such is the way of things The eagle appears and such is the way of things Wisdom one dream projectionist

THE PAPER TREES The paper trees are hitching up their foggy glassy petticoats Those girls are muddy to their waists Wet right up, wet right through Wet right up, wet right through Those pretty witches with birds pinned in their angled hair Dam that lake, dam those murky ways Dam that lake, dam those murky ways An illustration of a girl by twisted twins weeps willows far beneath her Drop sympathy on dreams of Ophelia And all the other weeping girls Mister fish and all the paying johns The doctors, lawyers and all their sons Who do they think they are? Who do they think they are? Yes burlesque waters turn to sludge Yes burlesque waters turn to sludge And who are you and I to judge?

BEFORE THAT GIRL GOT BORN Before that girl got born She had not a hair To pin those bruised and purple flowers in Before that girl got born She had not a button nose To stick with a bee inside a rose Before that girl got born She had not a map in mind To wonder if she were girl or boy Before that girl got born She had not a tear To shed for longing of a broken toy No glass no friend no pen or microphone She did her non-existence all alone For want of glass or friend or pen or microphone She did her non-existence all alone Before that girl got born Before that girl got born Before that girl got born Before that girl No glass no friend no pen or microphone She did her non-existence all alone

Sabrina 06:03
SABRINA She stands before the frames that give her a world In a little rock n roll room A music house by the blue bottle sea Too stinging for swimming so come inside So come on in and listen and look There lies three boats, there stands one man Greeting and meeting two dogs panting, panting Some trees standing, standing And some no longer standing Reborn into a roof vibrating And a shelter for a hopeful family Leave the little pests on the street Come inside, come inside to a good place Her hand is small but it does the job Her teeth don’t get in the way She knows how to resonate your name From her mouth her cave of love To the breeze of your freedom Her shoulders catch the light And make you want to be a man This girl is true her throat is you Her throat is your salvation In this world you’ll get a girl with flowers She’s holding up her instrument She makes an orchestra out of a few strings and a box Cowboy boots and an honesty policy Don’t mind if the room is full or empty A canyon full of lost souls comes to life She’ll be your necromancer Your resurrector, your redemption No matter if you live or not New life into you, new life into you She’ll play your heart to beating She’ll sing your soul to breathing

No Helen 04:47
NO HELEN I. The seed of love begat yearning The yearning begat planting Planting begat the long wait The long wait begat fervour Then cutting Then building And then comes the sailing For beauty feeds that fervour That must needs build the argo And the horse What Argonaut can steel himself Against the heart’s longing for flesh? No golden love without surrender No war, no Helen II. My unrequited love You sit and smoke your funny cigarettes And I am lost in my loss of you My most unsteady love How come you came to feel You weren’t as beautiful as I? I laugh at your jokes about Helenic Wars But I would build a Trojan horse of matchsticks for you Too much, too much you say But I will build it anyway What less can I do? Unconsummated love I am consumed Only seven hundred thousand more matches to go

Poor Claire 05:49
POOR CLAIRE They say the old girl is about Must be the day for steppin’ out And the lady’s a flying high Her legs go way up up to there Way up to you know who knows where Those delicious marbled thighs But she don’t reach no happiness Can’t ever reach her happiness Poor Claire Poor poor Claire Those cheeks are blended just right Her palate Rubens might have liked Her finger dabs and never drags A block of bloody golden glow And skin of razors in the snow She’s got an artist in her glass But she don’t reach no happiness Can’t ever reach her happiness Poor Claire Poor poor Claire Tippy toe on needle heels Her chemist knows just how she feels And she gives him what he needs He’s such a friendly young man Her pharmacist who understands The odyssey of these deeds She still don’t reach no happiness Can’t ever reach her happiness Poor Claire Poor poor Claire Don’t you know poor Claire? Don’t you know her? Don’t you know poor Claire? Don’t you know her? Whoever knows that old girl, whoever knows poor Claire Don’t you know poor Claire? Don’t you know her? What’s this lady’s name? The lady with the hair Don’t you know poor Claire? Don’t you know her? And the legs right up? Up up to there Don’t you know poor Claire? Don’t you know her? Whoever knows that old girl, whoever knows poor Claire Don’t you know poor Claire? Don’t you know her? What’s this lady’s name? The lady with the hair And the legs right up, up up up to there Whoever knows that old girl, Whoever knows poor Claire Don’t you know poor Claire? Don’t you know her? Don’t you know poor Claire? Don’t you know her? Don’t you know poor Claire? Don’t you know her?

Tiny Frogs 09:43
TINY FROGS I know them there them tiny frog I know them hidey there from me Hide from me in some bush or log And nasty teasy sing to me They nasty teasy sing to me Come look you girl in dewy green Soft tip toe creepy you and find We know you wonder we not seen You crazy stupid dumb and blind Yes crazy stupid dumb and blind You silly thing them sing and say They not come out but click and call Me happy sad and lose my way They watch my foots all trip and fall. My tiny foots all trip and fall I bleedy on my little legs All reds on knees and higher thigh I on the ground and quiet begs To baby Jesus in that sky Him baby in that cloudy sky That baby Jesus he not hear/here But trees and rocks all come alive Then big and frighten grow my fear Until I dream I not survive That dream come true I not survive I dead now country speak to me You come with us you not alone Our wander sister now you free Them tiny frog them take you home Us tiny frog we sing you home Them tiny frog them sing you home Us tiny frog we sing you home The ants and the ancestors Shudder sick and slow Rocks are seldom dead, no Never so While white underside the rough log snare Scorpions look close and listen As skeletal remains Sting songs of little ones fallen Poor fellas all No colour blood but one for all That which was done in the name of the civil In the tongue of the pale Who came those sunburnt thieves Who could not recognise a ground stone axe head But skipped it into the river of rum like reckless fools And shot their way to richness set the sorrow flow Come into the life of the land and stories of the time

Aviatrix 07:37
AVIATRIX There is only one air It moves over the world we share A pretty a bird machine In time Her trails blaze A blazing That mystery one romancing the sky Vast and all encompassing And now we love to love her so Asking where oh where oh where… Oh where did she go? Three thousand strides below She did it, she did it, she did what she did She did it, she did it, she did what she did Is it Malden salts or what that kiss her limbs? She wandered far and down, she wondered far and down She wondered far and down, if ever to be found… She did it, she did it, she did what she did She did it, she did it, she did what she did There is only one air, it moves over the world we share

Incarnadine 16:01
INCARNADINE A time or two They quietly step Crawling sighing things She is a distant brook No one, no one knows As her toes tread and dance All the trees have string hair They fall and live on Once was bone With lychee touch With bitter sharp And burning hope A new place to be born Black beetles And red soft stars Make the world Once was bone With crystal shard And with a breath We exclaim "We are alive"

about

Three years in the making, and with support from the Australia Council For The Arts, the second SIlver Sircus album 'Incarnadine' was painstakingly crafted in collaboration with ARIA Award winning producer Lachlan ‘Magoo’ Goold.

Across 10 songs and 72 minutes, the band traverses bold new sonic territory, at times totally reinventing their sound and song writing style. From the quickstep clash of Before That Girl Got Born to the hypnotic desert drone of Dust to the epic sprawling maelstrom of the closing title track, this is an album of snarling power, darkness & light, chaos & tranquillity.

The album was released in July 2016 as a deluxe 2LP Gatefold Limited Edition (+MP3 card) and for download/streaming in December 2016.
